Who could have guessed Aunt Joyce’s terra cotta lions that held up the heavy Italian pots on her Atlanta terrace would end up in front of my painting called “Tribute to Henry Mancini,” with Handel looking out from behind a plaster composite capital– with angels looking on. It is a world of shadows and baroque spatial effects with disparate elements like the dragon candlesticks in the lower left and right and the operatic staircase borrowed from downtown Tampa’s River Walk! I highlighted the abstract elements in the black and white painting which suggest the city at night…
