In adapting the polyformative images to wood panels, which eliminate framing and glazing this art, I came up with the idea of separating parts of the photographed set up, so that the negative/positive shapes become emphasized in a “broken” manner, somewhat like pieces of shattered china. It gave me a chance to expand the image out to the edges of the faux wood with painted pieces of “photographs” that were just paint. Oh, and there it is again…that dark and stormy night just like I experienced one foggy evening at Cranberry Point, Maine, in the nearby fishing village of Corea. Great way to start a story!
