For many of the years I lived in Tampa, I loved going to the white sand beaches on the Gulf at Fort DeSoto. It was my “thinking place,” where I spent time alone rolling and floating in the gentle surf when the water temperature would hover around 90. The wind, waves, and spectacular storms inland seen from the beach stimulated many imaginative paintings.
